Ok massage nothing special. Pool, Sauna and steam room was ok Salt room broken and prior to my visit notified that the Suna wasn't working. Jacuzzi head rest broken just wasn't enjoyable and can become easily overcrowded. Breakfast Luke warm food, wasn't offered the food that we could individually order from the kitchen. Overheard this from another waiter by this time it was too late. Soggy scrambled egg and undercooked sausages.

Not many cereal or pastry options either. Muffins were stale. Overall I will not be returning. Read more. Date of stay: November Trip type: Traveled as a couple. Helpful Share. Upon arrival the staff were friendly and checked us in quickly. One of the two rooms were ready which was handy.

We had the lunch buffet which was pleasant enough. It was a little slow on taking drinks orders and clearing away used plates but not the end of the world. The spa itself was absolutely packed so much so we avoided the jacuzzi as it was so crammed with people. I had a 30 bamboo massage with Elba who was lovely and the massage was amazing. We had signature rooms which are huge and do have everything you need.

My only criticism is that they are a little basic almost hostel like but still very clean and more than pleasant to stay in. We had cocktails in the bar which were lovely and followed by dinner in the restaurant which was also nice.

The staff were friendly and welcoming too. We was told if we wanted to order more wine to keep hold of our wine glasses as they were like gold dust which I think is quite crazy for such a large establishment. Overall we had a lovely stay and would revisit again. Date of stay: December Trip type: Traveled with friends. Shepherdess wrote a review Dec 2. Really disappointing.

We went for a birthday treat and were sadly disappointed in so much. We had a couples massage. My bed was broken so very noisy to move at the end of the massage you can see from my photo that the therapist gave up straightening the bed because it was just too noisy. The decor was tired and the therapists came in too quickly afterwards and neither of us had even got our dressing gowns back on.

Very unprofessional indeed. Our second treatments were facials. We had a 20min interval and were sent to a day bed where again the air con was on and it was really chilly. My facial was ok but the therapist chose to tell me all about the failings and changes that were afoot within the Lifehouse.

My friends facial was ok but she was given no information about products or asked any questions about her skin. Afternoon tea was nice but really this was the nicest part of our visit, a long way to go for a few sandwiches and cake bites. Really poor customer service and management, I would definitely suggest you head elsewhere. Date of stay: November Trip type: Traveled with friends.

Antonia J wrote a review Nov Not worth the money! Spent one night at the life house spa with a massage and 3 course meal included.. Now to the food H B wrote a review Nov A real nightmare - do not book! I have tried to book one night with Booking but the card payment did not go through. I called them the next day to pay over the phone - they were too busy and they said they'd call me back. I waited some hours and nothing so I called again. They were still too busy and said they'd call back by the end of that day.

By then I started to get worried: if they are not even interested in taking payment from a customer, what kind of service do they provide?

Two days later, I got an email from Booking saying my reservation had been cancelled due to lack of payment. I called them to enquire about this, and they said "we tried to take payment several times and we were not able to" - "uh, yeah, that's why I called twice two days ago!

So I finally paid over the phone and asked for a confirmation email. Of course, I was told. As you might already imagine, by the end of the day there was no confirmation email - not even in the spam box. Tried to email but got no reply. Tried to call again but was too late. They make you chase them over things that should be basic in any place, let alone such an expensive place.

Eventually I got fed up and called my bank to cancel the transaction, and emailed the hotel to say I'd be cancelling the reservation and the transaction. Much to my surprise, they still took the money out of my account, having send an email "confirming" my reservation and acting as if I had said nothing!

Um, which facial? The spa reception was disorganised and no-one offered us a tour of an explanation of the spa and its facilities. Food is excellent and the treatments were divine. Sorry your filter options returned no results. Overall Rating for this hotel 8. Room Comfort 0 8. Location 0 9.

Quality of Facilities 0 8. Beautiful room. Lovely hotel, however, we found the restaurant staff very rude. Very good in many areas, however improvements are needed. I booked as a party of 4, 2 twin rooms for a Birthday celebration.

Our rooms were at opposite ends of the hotel so more care could of been taken with room allocation. A nice gesture of a birthday card was in the room on arrival, Breakfast was good. Food was lovely and staff in the restaurant were really nice. Grounds are really nice to walk around. The hotel is beautiful, staff very attentive. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The food was excellent too.

Service slightly slow at breakfast. They have a buffet breakfast and you can ask for specific things to be cooked for you, but 2 fried eggs took them 15 minutes. That's probably the only thing that could be improved on. Also the 'contemporary double' we were in were actually 2 large single beds pushed together. It didn't ruin our stay, as we'd definitely go back there. I have to say unlike other stays this stay was particularly disappointing and would make me consider coming back unlike other visits which we have really enjoyed.

Room 24 was very nice and clean however the heating was broken and couldn't be turned off and meant we had to sleep with the double doors open all night which was kind of ridiculous. Even more disappointing was that on reporting the problem in the evening we were informed by the MT that someone had reported this the previous evening and begged the question on why we were put in there.

Also we booked a package to include the secret getaway and you allocated a time to us of 4. Therefore you left us with 45 minutes to get back to our room and ready for dinner at 8pm. Despite asking at reception we were not allocated a different time and they didn't have the courtesy of calling me back despite saying they would do it for us.

Very disappointing couple of instances which let you down compared to previous visits. Relaxation stress free perfect place for catch up with old friends whilst being pampered. From the moment you check in the staff are so warm and friendly v helpful and made the stay perfect.

The hotel was nice, the rooms were fine, food good but the whole experience was let down by most of the hotel being so cold. The bar served good drinks and snacks but was soo cold that after dinner we sat and had a quick drink with coats and scarfs on. We would have like to stayed longer but it was too uncomfortable. Even the restaurant was too cold. Everyone was commenting on it and was a real shame.

The hotel is amazing, and the treatments. The prices in the bar are very expensive and we would have spent more time in there if they were not so costly. The restaurant was disappointing.

The menu was unusual and not appealing to our taste buds. We ordered our main meal but, the menu omitted to say that the sauce was spicy sausage. Two of the party did not like the meal and left it.

The desert was also not very appealing but as we had paid for the 3 courses, we had no option but to eat in the restaurant. The hotel itself is very nice and the grounds lovely. The staff are great, friendly and helpful. The only draw backs are; - The cleanliness of the bathroom in my hotel room.

The toilet needs a good scrub, particularly under the seat. The room was spacious clean fully equipped comfortable and had beautiful views of the garden and grounds. Very lovely facilities staff very friendly and helpful. Food was lovely but menu quite limited.

The treatment which was a massage was amazing. Will definitely return in Spring so l can explore the gardens. My highlight of the stay was staff sang happy birthday with a cake for my friend and l which was lovely.

Great place, fabulous location. Very friendly helpful staff. Dinner was delicious. My friend was in a mobility scooter and everyone was very helpful. Had a special room with bathroom that was suitable for a person with limited mobility. Book with confidence
